Obscure Desires by Mimosa e.V. lädt zu experimentellen Filmen, Live Coding & elektronischer Musik am 31.10.2025, ab 19 Uhr in den Kulturhof Kalk sowie am 01.11.2025, ab 19:30 Uhr ins OYA MÜLLEM ein.
Als Start ins Halloween-Wochenende zeigen wir am 31.10. den Film "The Hunger" (1983), gefolgt von einem feierlich-exzentrisch Konzertprogramm von neu, kaputt. The Hunger ist ein Kult-Horrorfilm von Tony Scott, der queere Beziehungen und die Spannung zwischen Begehren, Macht und Vergänglichkeit ins Zentrum stellt. In den Hauptrollen spielen Catherine Deneuve, David Bowie und Susan Sarandon. Der Film gilt als stilprägendes Beispiel für ästhetisch aufgeladenes, atmosphärisches Queer Cinema der 1980er-Jahre.
Das Programm am 01.11.2025 im OYA erkundet den Umgang mit Code als künstlerische, lustvolle und widerständige Praxis und verdeutlicht wie Emotion, Identität und Körperlichkeit in Glitches, Verzerrung und Transformation emanzipierend erzählt werden können. Flor de Fuego (ARG/DE) entwickelt in ihrem Live-Coding Konzert in Echtzeit audiovisuelle Kompositionen an der Schnittstelle von Chaos, Körper und Kosmos. Das Kurzfilmprogramm zeigt historische und zeitgenössische Arbeiten, von abstrakter Animation bis zu glitch-basierten Videoarbeiten, die sich dieser Technologie zu eigen machen. Musikalisch präsentiert Xiulan (Berlin) in ihrem DJ-Set Klänge von Ambient über Drone bis hin zu Experimental.

Obscure Desires by Mimosa e.V. invites you to experimental films, live coding, and electronic music on October 31, 2025, from 7 PM at Kulturhof Kalk, as well as on November 1, 2025, from 7:30 PM at OYA MÜLLEM.
To start the Halloween weekend, we will show the film The Hunger (1983), followed by a festive and eccentric concert program by neu, kaputt. The Hunger is a cult horror film by Tony Scott that places queer relationships and the tension between desire, power, and transience at its center. Starring Catherine Deneuve, David Bowie, and Susan Sarandon, the film is considered a defining example of the aesthetically charged, atmospheric queer cinema of the 1980s.
The program on November 1, 2025, at OYA explores the use of code as an artistic, pleasurable, and resistant practice, and illustrates how emotion, identity, and corporeality can be told in an emancipatory way through glitches, distortion, and transformation. Flor de Fuego (ARG/DE) develops real-time audiovisual compositions in her live coding concert at the intersection of chaos, body, and cosmos. The short film program presents historical and contemporary works, from abstract animation to glitch-based video pieces, that appropriate this technology. Musically, Xiulan (Berlin) presents a DJ set with sounds ranging from ambient and drone to experimental.
